The Measure of a Man

What does it mean to be a Man today? To put that question more effectively, What does it mean to be a Man of Means in 2015? For it is "The Information Age"...

A Man today should be measured by his awareness. For as the world moves to become more "International" than nationally operated, a keen sense of self and surroundings will become paramount. Ones mobility will soon become more valuable than ones nobility. Your survival and prosperity will be totally dependent upon both your critical thinking and foreign relation skills. As boarders open up on all sides of the water...

With that said, let's get into the Game...

First level of awareness or tier One: Self Awareness - A Man must first be learn to liberate and govern himself. This mean emotionally, spiritually, economically, physically & lawfully.

This mean finding your flaws and improving and or working pass them. Choosing your OWN Faith and realizing no matter what faith and or religion you choose... It is YOU that must live this life and suffer the consequences. Become economically dependent on you own abilities and talents Only. Not resumes, degrees, and club affiliations. Test and learn your physical limits. This include dietary. Choose a Code of Ethics and stick to them.

Second level of awareness: Once a Man has learned himself, he should move to learning his HOUSE. Meaning increasing your awareness of your inner circles emotional, spiritual, economical, and physical needs and goals. And it is his job to assist and push those in his House to reach those goals.

Third Level of Awareness- A Man should work to learn the social, economical, and religious lay of his city. Followed by his state and his country. Again, the degree and debt at which a Man is aware of these affairs is his Measure.

Fourth and Final level that we're going to discuss today is: International Awareness- Once a Man has mastered or at least gotten his associates degree in the History and Affairs of the Nation in which he lives, he should work to increasing and mastering his awareness in International Affairs. This includes the religious beliefs of outside nations, Their political influence, ect.. Again the degree and depth of Awareness on this Level shall be his Measure...

The Days of the Male Gossiper are behind US. Your Sports History Awareness is neither beneficial nor enough. THE BAR HAS BEEN RAISED....

The Makings of a Man

February in Obarima takes us at The Black Bar to the principle of BALANCE.

"Establish that Balance in every aspect of your existence"

"An Afurakani obarima recognizes that he does not exist as an individual separate from other created entities"

Spread the Wealth... As Men!!! There is a mental rift within the human family. That rift begins at boys and ends at Men. It is our Job  to lead our comunities and respected families as MEN. It is our fraternal duties as Men to insure the well being of our children and women. Physically, Mentally, Financially, Educationally, Spiritually, and Emotionally. It's is of our fraternal duties raise our children as boys and girls into Men and Women. It is of our fraternal duties to insure that our respected Women feel comfortable as Women. And that they feel empowered and free to express their creativity and passion to the hight of their abilities. It's your job to insure that the woman you are building with is in fact a Woman in ever compacity of the word. But where does that start?

It starts at being a Man. You see The Black Bar deals with Manhood in particular but not exclusively. The Black Bar deals with Man in particular because it is "Man"perscribed with the task of building a house, a family, a culture, a NATION, but it is not for hisself that he builds these things. It's is for his respected complimentary opposite(Woman) and his offsprings(Children).

So why is being a Man first, so important? Anyone can build a house, start a family(lay and make children), claim a culture, declare a nationality or run a nation? Right? For history has shown Kings pass to leave the throne to their 8 year old son to rule a nation. But it is about Respect! Men respect Men not Boys.

Again I point you to The Black Bar's logo. It would be beneficial to note that there is much to the science of an image. Within the black bar's logo, you have a black rectangle or bar surrounded by a white square. This is not by accident. This signifies that we understand that even though The Black Bar is geared towards Afurakani or Black Excellence in particular, the game is not predicate to Afurakani or Blacks exclusively. We are prived to and effected by the existence, decisions, and culture of other diasporas led by Men.

Amongst us(society) is a subculture of Boy/Girl spirit that's being celebrated. These bright colors and cartoonish narratives and personas. This New Cool. While there's remotely wrong with these attributes. The Fact remains that these attributes does not garner respect. The spirit of the gathering and showcasing of materials. The Mansions, the mansion parties, the cars, clothing, and jewelry. It's ok to have and strive to have such things. Only in respect that we are also building those traits that truly garner respect. Things that are truly the essence of success and prosperity. Things that truly raise not only your personal social status, but also evolves the wealth of your culture as a whole. Attributes such as writing skills, linguistics, the nature of children’s numerical, arithmetical, and mathematical understanding, our scientific understanding of health and dietary aid, the social empathy of our community, the financial intelligence of our community, ect. These are the attributes, conversations, and responsiblities of Men and Women. Not the worries of Boys and Girls.

I can't take a man serious who only can engage in conversation about sports and entertainment. Who can diligently argue the date of the latest sneaker drop. But in reference to the current state of his community he rangs quite. In reference to the education of his children he's mute. In reference to the emotional condition of his woman he's clueless or indifferent. Now me of all people is not one to suggest that personal apprence is not important and should be held to a standard. But again, this thing is about Balance...

So Who's ready to get into some GrownMan Shit? February in America is prescribed to us to be Black History Month. Well we at The Black Bar are dedicating February to Black Men who have put that work in in antiquity and also Black Women in respect to the months overall divine principle being Balance. This month at The Black Bar will bring you personal narritives, interviews, autobiographies, must read books, and more in respect to Black Excellence... So Stay Tuned and Stay Sharp

Whole Foods Saga: 101

As an Urban Renaissance, One should be knowledgable in a vast number of Fine Arts: Curry Lobster, Mussels, King Shrimp, Sprouts in a Olive X Spice Honey Mustered Sauce on top of Couscous

"Eat Whole Foods"

I coined this mantra a while ago. Its a Double Entendre for of course the obvious eatting of healthy whole foods. Not gmo's and hybrid BS. (Seedless Watermelon).

Secondly... The consumption and distribution of Whole Brain Foods. Meaning to deliver and digest only complete or whole information and game. Do not allow anyone to feed you short game and make you their pawn. To check sources and source references before you ingest information and confirm them to be whole. To make sure "Your doing the most" to deliver as much verifiable information if you are claiming to hold the title of Teacher or Professor.

So "Eat Whole Foods and Spit out the Seeds"
