Guns X Butter

“…You’ve got to learn the difference between guns and butter… Now what are the guns? The guns, that’s the real estate. That’s stocks and bonds, artwork. You know s%!t that appreciates wit’ value. What’s the butter? Cars, clothes, jewelry, all that other bullsh*t that don’t mean sh*t after you buy it. That’s what it’s all about – guns and butter, baby….”-Melvin  The OG, played by Ving Rhames

Guns.... Or... Butter? Which do you prefer? And can you have both?

The answer to this analogy is actually founded in your personality. Are you a defensive player or an Offensive player? You see upon taking an analytical look into the Guns and Butter analogy you find that whats truly being discussed is the management of finite resources. The choice of buying guns (investing in defense/arms) or butter (investing the production process and marketing) ie: operating expenses.

Macroeconomics! Is a branch of economics dealing with the performance, structure, behavior, and decision-making of an economy as an whole, rather than an individual market. Which is the most Mackish economic model to follow. And if you're rocking with the Bar you already know we keep everything Holistic and Mackish on this side. And since as an Urban Renaissance Man you should be well aware of the rules war and power in the sense to not make yourself an island. Meaning intertwining your foundation with those of other to strength the whole.

Now the first asset to protect and invest in with the science of this analogy is in your mental. You as a Man should be investing 98% of your time into Real Shit! GUNS!!! This meaning managing and filtering your media intake. 98% of your studying and entertainment should be engulf in goal oriented thought. Or first person thought narrative. This is how I operate. Now I often get label by others as a narcissist or self centered for such behavior, but I don't give a damn. If you are not entertain it for your immediate personal benefit, the benefit of your team, or the future benefit of yourself or other, whats the point? Are you willess animal who lacks the mental ability to use and master tools or are you a Man? I personally prefer and have the ability to mentally put myself in others shoes to do my due diligence.
Real shit, the ability to quickly and effectively analysis a situation in real time speed does give you an god like complex, but I digress. Simply focus on the things that take up the most of your time/energy. Those are the things that really matter. The things that you have to do instead of the things you want to do. Ie. You have to have a roof over your head, well it would be best to study real estate. You have to eat, it would be best to research your dietary habits and or invest in the foundation of the food industry. ect...

Secondly, now that you have invested or gave thought to your mental, it would be best to start invest in Real or Tangible Guns. Ie: Real Estate, Art, Education in the form of languages and mathematics, obtaining licences that transcend your current job or position. Meaning do not spend 2k on getting an licences just for a job position thats only available in two companies in the world. Though it may seem wise if few people know of the particular position, to do so would be investing in butter not Guns.

Now peep, I just peeped some Buscemi shoes for 1300$, now thats butter!!! Right? Now I can buy those all day every day, and shut down anywhere that I go, but after all the flattering attention and ego stroking what do I really have? Or after a little research I would find that for that same 1300$ or a few hundred more, I could obtain my Crane Operator licence in about a week. A security blanket to put in your back pocket that averages 70-100k plus.... Guns and Butter baby...!!!

Now the secret to the success of this economic algorithm is he who perseveres the purchase of Guns over Butter the longest wins. The hard part in this life of sin is managing the marketing, life style, ego, habits that you have built and groomed thus far. Though holding fast to a strict purchase of guns only will make you king of the playground, you still have an emotional intelligence responsibility to empathize with your team, your employees, those who toes you have stepped on, those who have broke their backs in sacrifice for your plan. This is the "Balancing of the Books". A post that we will get into at a later time...
